I’m Jean-Lize,
Design has always been part of my world. I’ve always been drawn to beautiful spaces, but more than that, I’ve always been fascinated by how they come together.
Growing up around construction through my family’s construction company, I developed an early appreciation for how homes come together. Not just aesthetically, but structurally and practically as well. It gave me understanding of how homes are built, how decisions affect the final result, and why good design needs to be both beautiful and buildable.
After graduating with distinction in interior design, I founded Scheün Bespoke Interior Designs to create homes that feel calm, cohesive, and deeply considered. My approach is detail driven, practical, and personal. Guiding each project from the early concept stages through to final styling to offer homeowners a guided design experience.
I work closely with clients, architects, and builders to ensure every decision supports the overall vision of the space, creating homes that feel warm, refined, and deeply personal. Based in Salt Rock, Ballito, I work with homeowners across KZN to design spaces that feel refined, livable, and deeply personal.

My design philosophy
My approach blends modern restraint with natural warmth.
I’m drawn to layered neutrals, tactile materials, sculptural forms, and interiors that feel quiet but never flat. I believe a home should feel elevated without feeling untouchable — refined, but still easy to live in every day.
For me, good design is not only about how a space looks. It’s about how it feels when you walk into it, how it functions for daily life, and how every element works together to create a sense of calm.
How I work
My process is calm, collaborative, and thoughtfully guided from the start. I like the design process to feel clear and guided from the start.
That means understanding how you live, what you need from your space, what your priorities are, and where your budget is best spent. From there, I develop a cohesive direction and carefully curate the finishes, furnishings, and details that bring the home together.
I also manage sourcing and procurement for full-service projects, which allows the process to feel more seamless and considered from beginning to end.
My goal is always to create a home that feels complete, beautiful, and genuinely yours.

I work across Salt Rock, Ballito, Umhlanga, and Durban North, with select projects considered across KZN depending on scope.
